What Is PT-141?

Bremelanotide (PT-141) is a melanocortin receptor agonist derived from the hormone analog Melanotan II. It stimulates melanocortin receptors in the brain, particularly MC3R and MC4R, which are involved in sexual arousal pathways.

It is not a hormone and does not directly affect testosterone, estrogen, or nitric oxide pathways.

How It Works

PT-141 acts centrally (in the brain) by activating melanocortin receptors in areas that regulate:

Because it works through the nervous system rather than directly increasing blood flow, it differs from medications like Sildenafil (Viagra).
